You can't tell how good a product is unless you compare it against other products. I did a comparison with the Braun 790cc shaver and two other products.
The first product I chose to compare the Braun model to is the Philips shaver. The Braun 790cc shaver uses foil technology, and the Philips model uses a rotary blade. If you don't have to shave often, you likely will prefer the better results from the rotary blade. Plus, the Philips operates quietly, which is always a plus. But some people didn't think the Philips brand gave a very close shave.
I also compared the Braun model against the Remington shaver. This shaver is usually considered a good value. Overall, it is a more cost-effective purchase. It is louder to operate than the Philips shaver and doesn't come with a cleaning base. The Remington comes with a three-position pop-up trimmer, but many people find this feature to be difficult to use. On the other hand, the Braun model is rated highly for comfort because of its easy-grip design that can be used with one hand.
One of the reasons the Braun model is rated highly is because of its close shave. Most people agree that you can't get a closer shave unless you use a blade. Plus, this model is included in the 7 series, which features Power Comb technology lift hairs for a closer shave. It also uses a flexible, pivotal head which makes it easy to reach those hard-to-reach places on the contours of your face and neck. I'll admit the head could be made more flexible for the chin and other difficult places, which require you to do more than one pass over.
The Braun 790cc shaver stands apart because it vibrates when you use it. This results in a closer shave that makes full use of the random pattern on the foil. The foil features different shapes and sizes of holes that give a closer shave.
After I did this comparison on three top models of shavers, I decided to purchase the Braun 790cc shaver, and I have loved using it on a daily basis. Its innovative Braun technology gives me a clean-shaven appearance while not irritating my skin. I can see now why this Braun model has been a consumer favorite for so many years, and I only wish I had given in a better look many years ago.
